Venture Investor, Brand Capital
Raman is a Venture Investor with Brand Capital, the strategic investment arm of the Times Group – India’s largest media conglomerate. He scouts and evaluates investment opportunities in the Consumer-Tech and Prop-Tech start-ups, with a thesis on building D2C brands having a national impact.
Prior to this, Raman was a founder himself where he developed and scaled 12 products in air quality and weather monitoring space before taking an exit from a French incumbent with a 10x return. Before his entrepreneurial journey, he was a management consultant with Strategy& (now part of PriceWaterhouseCoopers) and worked in FMCG, Technology and Auto sectors. His focus areas were Market Entry, Exit and GTM strategies for large corporates. He started his career as a robotics engineer for space explorations in Fraunhofer Institute, Germany and published papers on using neural networks in autonomous machines.
Raman holds an MS degree from Darmstadt, Germany and MBA from SP Jain, Mumbai. He is a die-hard Metallica fan and loves to spend time with toddlers in a kindergarten.
